Goal Training and Development has commenced the delivery of Certificate 3 Hospitality traineeships with 6 supervisory staff at a large RSL Club in southern Melbourne, using MOBILE DEVICES.
The participants, aged from 19 to 62 years of age, will be using hand held PDAS to access the course content and assessments, which will be emailed to the training manager when completed. The content includes text, audio, images and videos.
The PDA based resources have been developed specifically to incorporate site specific content, particularly wines and beverages that are sold in the venue. All the practical units of the course are delivered on the devices and match the required Learning Outcomes.
The devices will also be used by staff that were not eligible for the traineeships. They will have the opportunity to access the content at any time, without the need for face to face instruction.
As part of the traineeship delivery, the Club has access to the web based authoring tool, which will allow them to develop their own content at any time. Future content will include Club inductions and policies and procedures for new staff.
