E-Learning Innovations Funding for 2009 - UPDATES as at 1/12/09

GTD was successful in one of its submissions for 2009 E-Learning Innovations funding which is co ordinated by the Australian Flexible Learning Framework.

 

The project will involve: the use of hand held mobile devices to deliver site specific product knowledge content such as wines and alcoholic beverages to staff employed in regional and metropolitan licensed Clubs in Victoria. The content will include text, audio and other multimedia.

 

GTD will be supported by a number of licensed Clubs in Melbourne and regional Victoria and their staff will be involved in using the resources and offering their feedback. The project is due for completion by the end of November 2009 and the outcomes will be presented at various forums in December.

PROJECT UPDATE   1st December 2009 

 

The project is in its completion stages. The final report has been submitted and GTD looks forward to its presentation at the Converge 09 conference to be held at Chisholm TAFE in Frankston, Melbourne on 3rd and 4th December.

 

We will be doing a 45 minute presentation to Conference delegates on Thursday 3rd at 3-15 pm. The following day will be the opportunity to showcase our project for conference delegates with a one hour workshop session. 

 

GTD would like to thank the elearning project team at Eworks and all the managers and staff from our partner venues: Maroondah Club, Hawthorn Club, Ocean Grove Bowls Club and Lakes Entrance Bowls Club for their assistance, trialling and feedback on the project. We are entering the final month of the project. The project partners are getting their staff to use the devices and provide written feedback. GTD will be visting the venues in the first week of November to collect the data and answer any issues which may have arisen. Some of the venues will be receiving training in the use of our proprieatary authoring tool to allow them to commence some initial content development themselves.  

 

 

Also, GTD will be approaching a number of local Hotels, Clubs and Cafes to use the devices and provide feedback on them. This will enable a broader response to the effectiveness of the devices. In the interim, GTD will be preparing for a national on line presentation for the e-Innovations 09  conference to be held on Thursday 5th November from 11-30 am. 

 

 

PROJECT UPDATE: 22nd September 2009 

 

Project content has undergone the edit stage for all the written resources. Multi media images have been completed in 3 of the partner venues. Videos for the fourth partner venue will be completed by the end of September. All AUDIO versions of the content have been uploaded and have been tested. The edits of ALL the content has been completed and downloaded on to mobile devices as of 20/9/09.

 

Contract developer has included ELECTRONIC signatures on the devices for the the 2 accredited assessments. Users will complete the assesment on the device, sign a confirmation page with the stylus, save all the content and email answers to a designated Trainer. Trialling of the devices has commenced with metropolitan partners from Tuesday 22/9/09. The regional trials will commence from September 30th.
